Actor/comedian Russell Brand and his estranged wife
singer, Katy Perry, reached a divorce settlement.
The resolution was disclosed in documents filed Tuesday in Los Angeles
Superior Court filed by Perry's lawyers. She asked for her maiden name --
Hudson -- back and not to award Brand spousal support.
Professionally, the singer used her mother's maiden name, Perry, to
avoid confusion with actress Kate Hudson. Perry's given name is Katheryn
Elizabeth.
The couple married Oct. 23, 2010, in India.
In December when he filed for divorce, Brand, 36, issued a terse
statement: "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her
and I know we'll remain friends."
Rumors about marital trouble gained momentum after Perry, 27, spent
Christmas in Hawaii with friends, while Brand was in London. Both were
photographed without wedding rings on several times.
Tabloids reported that the couple had a falling out just before the
holidays.
