Emmy Award-winning actress Marg Helgenberger will receive the 2,458th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, two days before CBS airs her final episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
Jorja Fox, a castmate of Helgenberger on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," and Dana Delany, who like Helgenberger was an Emmy-winning actress on the 1988-91 ABC Vietnam War drama "China Beach," will join her in speaking in the 11:30 a.m. ceremony in front of the Musso and Frank Grill on Hollywood Boulevard.
Helgenberger's star will be two stars away from that of her former "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" co-star, William Petersen.
Born Nov. 16, 1958, in Fremont, Neb., and raised in North Bend, Neb., Helgenberger graduated from Northwestern University and began her career as a cast member of the ABC daytime drama, "Ryan's Hope."
She made her movie debut in the 1989 horror anthology "After Midnight." Her other movie credits include "Erin Brockovich," "Mr. Brooks," "Species" and its sequel, "Species II," "In Good Company," "Fire Down Below," "My Fellow Americans," "Always" and "Bad Boys."
Helgenberger won a outstanding supporting actress in a drama Emmy in 1990 for her portrayal of the prostitute K.C. Kolowski on "China Beach," a role that would also bring her nominations in the category each of the next two years. She received outstanding lead actress in a drama nominations for her work in "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" in 2001 and 2003.
Helgenberger's other series credits include guest-starring roles on "ER," "Frasier" and "thirtysomething." She also appeared in the miniseries "The Tommyknockers" and "Perfect Murder, Perfect Town" as the mother of the slain beauty pageant contestant JonBenet Ramsey.
