Kavanaugh To Be Honored At Israel Film Fest’s Opening Gala

Ryan Kavanaugh, CEO and founder of Relativity Media, LLC will be honored with the 2010 IFF Achievement in Film Award at the Israel Film Festival’s (IFF) 25th anniversary gala awards dinner, Oct. 20 at The Beverly Hilton.

The Israel Film Festival will present more than 40 films and run from Oct. 20-Nov. 4 in Los Angeles.

Kavanaugh has created business and financial structures and deals with Sony, Universal, Warner Bros., Marvel and others. He has acquired a wealth of strategic assets including Rogue Pictures, and the marketing and distribution operations of Over-ture Films. He recently reached a first-of-its-kind TV pay deal with Netflix.

As a producer, Kavanaugh’s recent films in-clude Universal’s Mamma Mia and A Serious Man, Lionsgate’s Brothers and 3:10 To Yuma, The Weinstein Company’s Nine and Screen Gems’ Dear John.

In an annual rite of Oscar season, Academy Award- nominated actors, directors and producers descended on the Beverly Hilton today for a good-natured lunch and photo session.
The Horace Mann Elementary Student Council designated Wednesday as Horace Mann V.I.P. Day. Students went to school wearing V.I.P. outfits and the entire elementary staff surprised Principal Steve Kessler by dressing up like him complete with fake moustaches.
