MPAA Hosts Reception At French Consul General’s BH Residence

The Multicultural Motion Picture Association’s Educational Scholarship Fund received the proceeds from the annual celebrity “meet and greet” reception co-hosted by MMPA President Jarvee E. Hutcherson (right) and Consul General of France David Martinon (left) at the latter’s Beverly Hills home. Among those on hand were Oscar-winning director Michael Cimino (center) as well as Ralph Rieckermann, David Shelton, Susan DeLaurentis, CCH Pounder, Lee Daniels, Matt Sorum, Dick Michaels, Bonnie Pointer, Dionne Warwick and many others. Student filmmakers and scholarship recipients were able to meet industry professionals first hand.

In an annual rite of Oscar season, Academy Award- nominated actors, directors and producers descended on the Beverly Hilton today for a good-natured lunch and photo session.
The Horace Mann Elementary Student Council designated Wednesday as Horace Mann V.I.P. Day. Students went to school wearing V.I.P. outfits and the entire elementary staff surprised Principal Steve Kessler by dressing up like him complete with fake moustaches. Pictured is the elementary staff sporting their fake moustaches and Principal Kessler with his real moustache.
