A grand opening next week will officially launch Yan-Yan Zhang’s latest project.
Mayor Jimmy Delshad will cut the ribbon at 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug 12 for the latest incarnation of Zhang’s She’s Hair & Fashion Accessories in the Beverly Cañon Gardens’ Building-Vitrine B., adjacent to the Montage Beverly Hills.
The ceremony will be followed by a free jazz concert in the Beverly Cañon Gardens, part of a series of summer concerts sponsored by the Cañon Drive Association and the City.
The boutique reflects Zhang’s fashion sense with hand-crafted hair accessories/ornaments, fashion jewelry—earrings, necklaces, bracelets and watches—sunglasses and neckwear/scarves of the finest materials and fabrics and myriad colors. To celebrate the grand opening, first-time buyers get 20 percent off their purchases.
But Zhang’s boutiques are just a piece of her many projects and accomplishments. She a licensed real estate agent affiliated with Rodeo Realty, a red-carpet celebrity stylist and the first Asian model presenter at the Academy Awards.
Her story is one of pursuing the American dream. Born in China, the six-foot-tall athletic Zhang trained as a high jumper and earned a degree in sports medicine.
Her height and looks made her an ideal model and she soon found herself in print campaigns and working as a runway model. In Paris, signed with the Ford Agency, she modeled all the top couture shows including Pierre Cardin, Nina Ricci, Escada, Chanel and Issey Miyake.
Her growing career also took her to London where she studied at the London Business School in between modeling assignments in Europe, Chicago and New York.
Discovered by Oscar producers, she was the first Asian model to serve as a presenter on the telecast.
Settled in Los Angeles, Zhang is pursuing her dreams in the fields of fashion and film and is represented by Commercials Unlimited Agency in Beverly Hills.
Zhang works with celebrities on red-carpet styling, helping them coordinate jewelry, gowns and the fashion accessories she knows so much about.
But she also wants to share her love of fashion with all women. “She’s is dedicated to the beautification and empowerment of women, elevating their self image, self esteem and self confidence,” says Zhang. “Our business is about treating a woman with the dignity respect and kindness she deserves, so that every woman our business touches feels she’s unique, special and awesome.”
And She’s products are as unique as the women who wear them. “She’s combines cutting-edge European couture with the grace, charm and tradition of Far Eastern fashion,” says Zhang.
She’s designers create 30 to 60 new products every month reflecting the latest trends and establishing new ones. Eighty percent of the items are produced in China with the remaining 20 percent from Germany, Zhang added. Top-of-the-line materials include Swar-ovski crystals.
Zhang herself is on the international design team for the feather collection.
