Irene Caro is the person people turn to when they want a custom hair piece “with the most undetectable hair line you will never see.”
Caro has a long history and reputation for creating quality hair pieces for men, women, children and chemotherapy patients. “The majority of our clients are men in their 30s and 40s,” Caro says, “but we have every age and gender, from younger to older to in between,” Caro says.
Known as a kind, considerate and thoughtful professional, Caro literally grew up in the hair replacement business. Her mother was in the business and, starting at 15, when her mother left the room, Caro would practice on the pieces she was working on.
She stuck with it, earning her cosmetology license while working and raising a family full time. She struck out on her own in 2001 and is the former head of production for Farrell Hair Replacement. Irene celebrated the opening of her new salon, Caro Hair Design, in January with old and new friends and clients.
The process to create her truly customized hair pieces begins with the consultation. After that, a plaster mold is made of the client's head to serve as a form for the hairpiece.
Using human hair from all over the world, Caro strives to match the piece to a client’s own natural color and texture.
Turn around time for a piece is six to eight weeks; and the pieces are made locally. Caro is also known for her confidentiality and quality customer service. All the consultations, fittings and adjustments are done in private rooms.
Clients come in every four to six weeks, for adjustments and hair additions if necessary (Caro also does extensions) and color if they need it.
The response to her new company has been excellent, Caro says. “We have a great following,” she adds, including clients from her former company who have followed her to her new Beverly Hills salon.
