Steven Peiser has joined Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles Medical Group to serve both organizations as the associate vice president of Contracting, according to Richard D. Cordova, president/CEO of CHLA, and Paul King, CEO of the CHLA Medical Group.
Peiser will work closely with both the hospital and the medical group leadership to ensure close coordination of strategic planning, business development, contracting and financial operations. He will provide both organizations with expertise in the areas of payor contracting and revenue maximization.
Day-to-day, Peiser and his team will be accountable for the negotiation, communication, implementation and oversight of managed care contracts on behalf of both while developing collaborative relationships with health plans, physician groups and ancillary vendors.
Peiser formerly worked for CIGNA Healthcare as vice president of National Total Medical Cost Management, transitioning into this role as a result of CIGNA’s acquisition of Great-West Healthcare, where he was regional vice president of network management for the Great-West’s Southern California Region .
Before that, he was regional director of community medical services for Kaiser Permanente. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in health administration from Tulane.
