A 19,000-square-foot French-inspired mansion overlooking the 16th hole of the Bel-Air County Club golf course is for sale for $23.45 million, it was reported today.
The vintage-1951 home, once owned by producer David Wolper and later by composer Jerry Herman, sits on about an acre and features a screening room, nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The property also includes a guest house, swimming pool, spa and a formal garden.
Wolper, who owned the property from 1977 to 1993, died in August at age 82.
He was known for producing Roots (1977), The Thorn Birds (1983) and L.A. Confidential (1997).
Broadway composer-lyricist Herman, known for La Cage aux Folles and Hello, Dolly!, bought the house from Wolper in 1993 and sold it in 2000 for about $6 million, according to Times.
