• The Estate of Jack Haley: The Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz
The grandson and granddaughter of Jack Haley present 'The End of the Rainbow - A Chance to Stroll Down The Yellow Brick Road Where This Giant Hollywood Legend Lived!' this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
This estate sale features an eclectic collection from the Hollywood Giant, in the Spanish style house that has been in the family since 1942.
This estate sale has something for everyone.
Items include fine art, including bronzes, marble, sculpture, oil paintings, etchings, lithographs, china, glass, silver, collectibles, fireplace equipment, stained glass windows and decorative accessories.
Movie star memorabilia includes awards and photographs are also up for grabs.
The variety is large - there everything from antique furniture to a mid-century custom made steel coffee table that was once in Jack Haley Jr's House.
Cash and personal checks with ID will be accepted - no early birds.
It will be held at 600 North Walden Dr, Beverly Hills, on Saturday June 26 from 10am to 5pm.
• The Peninsula Launches Hollywood
Bowl Picnic
This summer,
The Peninsula Beverly Hills invites guests and locals to coordinate
their Hollywood Bowl Picnics with the evening’s entertainment.
With two
days notice, Executive Chef James Overbaugh will create a three-course
picnic menu that complements a specific concert program.
In addition, The Peninsula Beverly Hills offers
a variety of three-course Hollywood Bowl picnic menus along with
signature Peninsula snacks such as truffle popcorn, perfect with
pre-concert cocktails, and caramel popcorn, for a post-dessert treat.
Three-course picnic dinners range from $39 per
person and come with freshly baked breads and butter. Customized themed
menus require two days notice.
Diners also can order snacks including:
Imported and domestic cheese with breads, $18 per person; vegetable
crudité, $14 per person; marinated olives, $8 per person; Pistachios or
mixed Nuts, $8 per person; taro chips, $8 per person; and The
Peninsula’s caramel popcorn, $8 per person.
Bottled wines from The
Peninsula Beverly Hills’ award-winning cellars, along with beers and
soft drinks are also available.

calling for a drive-by pick-up.
When you pull into the driveway of The
Peninsula Beverly Hills, a member of the staff will whisk their picnic
basket, complete with plastic utensils, paper plates, napkins and, on
request, a blanket, directly to their car.

• The Paley Center Presents ‘I Want My Gay TV’!
The Paley Center for Media with SIRIUS XM Radio
celebrates 2010 Pride Weekend in New York with the launch of “I Want My
Gay TV!”—an interactive paleycenter.org web exclusive featuring classic
clips from the Paley Center’s extensive collection combined with audio
excerpts from SIRIUS XM’s audio documentary I Want My Gay TV: The LGBT
History Of Television.
The
Paley Center offers this unique web experience that combines excerpts
from the documentary’s interviews matched up with clips from the
programs they discussed.
The commentators include comedienne-talk show
host Rosie O'Donnell, writer Bruce Vilanch, actor Dan Butler, actress
Lucy Lawless, writer Marc Cherry and entertainer RuPaul.
SIRIUS XM will also air encore presentations of
I Want My Gay TV: The LGBT History Of Television on June 26 from 7-10

Philharmonic Launches Free Hollywood Bowl App
The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association
announces the launch of a brand new application, “Hollywood Bowl,” now
available for Android and iPhone (compatible with the new operating
system iOS4), and coming in July for Blackberry and the mobile web.
The first venue application of its kind, the
“Hollywood Bowl” app acts as the user’s personal guide.
The app gives
users detailed concert information, including bios, photos and show
times, sorted by date or genre, and the ability to add concerts to a
favorites list in order to receive reminders and special announcements
concerning their favorite shows.
