Two Department of Water and Power workers suffered electrical shocks today while working in a power vault in Bel Air Estates, causing an outage that knocked out power to 610 customers.
The mishap occurred at 3:52 p.m. in the 200 block of North Bel Air Road, said Erik Scott of the city fire department.
He said the workers, both men, were conscious and stable, but were taken to hospitals.
The vault was de-energized.
DWP spokesman Joe Ramallo said 610 customers in the Bel Air/Westwood area lost power.
There was no immediate estimate on when power would be restored.
