Lipotherme, the latest European liposuction technique is now available locally.
Dr. Vivek Bansal, an internationally recognized expert in the laser lipo technique is now offering the procedure at the Miracle Mile Outpatient Center on Wilshire.
Lipotherme, the result of years of research by a team of European researchers, targets unwanted fat “zones” and eliminates them from the body.
“Lipotherme is a safe, effective, minimally invasive procedure that uses heat-generating lasers to selectively break up unwanted body fat,” says Dr. Bansal. “It is particularly effective on the abdomen, waist, back, neck, thighs, face, chin, arms and knees.”
“Lipo” means fat, and “therme” means heat; so Lipotherme is literally the controlled application of very low doses of heat to liquefy fat.
“Everyone has a little abdominal fat–such as after having a baby–that they can’t get rid of no matter how hard they diet or exercise,” Bansal said. “Lipotherme is perfect for that; and it’s great for the inner and outer thigh.
“Because it’s so safe and effective I can do neck lifts or mini facelifts and just use the laser,” Bansal said.
In addition to removing unwanted fat, Lipotherme’s thermal effect causes the skin to contract, resulting in firmer, smoother skin.
Advantages over traditional liposuction include:
• Faster—Reduced procedure time means less time in the doctor’s office.
• Minimally invasive—Least in-vasive of all lipolysis procedures.
• Minimal Healing —Patients are back and work and active in less time.
• Minimal Discomfort—Paten-ted technology allows patients to remain awake during the procedure.

Lipo means fat, and therme means heat; so Lipotherme is literally the controlled application of very low doses of heat to liquefy fat.
Most patients resume normal activities the day after their procedure, however, but it is recommended that patients wait several days before resuming strenuous activity, such as exercising.
• Minimal Discomfort—Patented technology allows patients to remain awake during the procedure.
There are limitations to Lipotherme and not everyone qualifies, Bansal points out. “Some people need traditional procedures; but this is a good option.”
Bansal was introduced to the procedure by his wife, a board-certified dermatologist. “Like most plastic surgeons I was trained to cut; this is a great way to combine surgical technique with minimally invasive laser technology.”
Another appeal for Bansal is “the tightening I can get. I particularly like to use it for neck and jowls.”
Lipotherme has been used in Europe for seven years and in the United States for three. It was approved by the FDA last April, and Bansal has been performing the procedure at Miracle Mile Outpatient Surgery Center since August.
“Patients should have procedures like this at Miracle Mile, an accredited outpatient surgery center where safety is the highest priority,” Bansal said.
Miracle Mile Outpatient Surgery Center is at 5757 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 6.
