At Huang Acupuncture, Daniel Huang specializes in foot pain and pain management. A licensed acupuncturist, Huang says the treatment is especially good for those who spend a lot of time on their feet.
“If you change your shoes, use inserts or take painkillers and still have pain, acupuncture is the cure. Acupuncture works,” says Huang, who’s settled into his new Robertson Boulevard location.
A store worker, who spent her days on her feet, came to Huang after trying all kinds of treatments that did not work. The pain was so bad it kept her from working. After four treatments and taking herbs, she is now happily back at work.
Huang also offers Asian Foot Reflexology ($15 per half hour) that activates points along the foot, related to internal organs.
Acupuncture, which is safe, natural and non-invasive, is especially good for pain management, Huang said. He uses it to treat acute and chronic pain, headaches and migraines, lumbago and knee pain, sports or job-related injuries, post-operative pain, sciatica and knee pain.
Studies indicate that acupuncture influences the central and peripheral nervous system. It affects sugar, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels in the blood, as well as the endocrine and gastrointestinal systems. Acupuncture works with the body to harmonize and balance energy.
It improves circulation, releases endorphins to control pain, is effective with sleep problems and weight loss and allows the body to heal itself quickly and completely.Huang Acupuncture is at 251 S. Robertson, #101, open from 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
