Buzz about Belmont Village Westwood continues beyond the July opening, attended by nearly 1,000 neighbors. The senior living community, located at 10475 Wilshire Blvd., is the twentieth Belmont Village, and the fifth in Los Angeles. Belmont credits community involvement for their record-breaking attendance.
“This project is a classic example of our ‘community within a community’ philosophy,” said Belmont Village CEO Patricia Will. “It was conceived as a community partner, and we made many friends during development. The opening was a celebration of those relationships.”
Belmont Village Westwood was developed in collaboration with the UCLA Emeriti and Retirees Joint Housing Committee and other community leaders. Design is innovative and creative, making the most of the site, formerly the Westwood United Methodist Church parking lot, and the location – the six story building features superior views, well-appointed courtyards, and a private pool.
Other amenities include a fitness center, spa, salon, theatre, club room, library, technology center, wireless internet, valet parking, concierge services and chef-prepared dining. But beauty is only skin deep if not supported by substantive programming and opportunities for enrichment, involvement and social and intellectual pursuits.
Belmont Village Westwood presents new ways for residents to stay involved. As part of their original collaboration, Belmont continues to work with the UCLA Emeriti and Retirees Center to develop campus connections and programs, and provides regular shuttle service between the community and UCLA.
“We developed Belmont Village with the guidance of leading university experts,” said Will. “But in addition to our signature programs for enrichment, lifestyle and care, we believe strongly in encouraging residents to shape their communities, creating a culture that reflects the population. It will be interesting to watch Belmont Village Westwood mature.”
The 162,000-square-foot building accommodates 168 apartments for independent, assisted living, and Alzheimer’s care with studio, one-and two-bedroom plans.
Other Belmont Village communities in Greater Los Angeles include Hollywood Hills, Burbank, Encino, and Ranchos Palos Verdes. For information please call 310/475-7501 or visit www.belmontvillage.com.
