Fresh off its runner-up finish at the 2009 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship, Washington University in St. Louis had three student-athletes named to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Central Region Team, as announced by the Association.
Caryn Rosoff, (Harvard-Westlake) was named to the first team
Rosoff will conclude her career as one of the top scorers in school history. She earned 2009 UAA MVP honors after finishing the season with 11 goals and six assists for 28 points.
Rosoff is a four-time all-UAA and three-time all-region honoree, and was a 2007 NSCAA Second-Team All-American selection.

Washington University advanced to the national championship game before falling to No. 1 ranked and defending national champion Messiah College, 1-0, last week in San Antonio, Texas.
Messiah (25-0-1) dominated the first 20 minutes of play, attacking the Washington University end with six shots. Senior Amanda Naeher, the 2008 NSCAA Division III National Player of the Year, got the Falcons on the scoreboard at the 23:28 mark for the lone goal of the game. Naeher took a pass from junior Erin Hench and sent a shot from just outside the WU box to the near corner that just got by the outstretched arms of freshman goalkeeper Clara Jaques (Harvard-Westlake).
The team advanced it the national championship with a 4-3 shootout win over No. 21 Lynchburg College at the Blossom Soccer Complex in San Antonio, Texas.
Ashley Hoath gave Lynchburg an early 1-0 lead in the shootout, and then after a save by freshman goalkeeper Jaques, Rosoff snuck one in off the left post to knot the score.
“That day was much scarier than the shootout we had with Wheaton,” said Jaques, whose grandmother lives in Beverly Hills. “The Final Four is not another game like people try to tell you it is. I knew if I could come up with a couple saves, I could keep us in it.”
Rosoff was also named to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Adidas Division III Women’s Soccer All-America Team, as announced by the association.
Rosoff is just the fourth player in school history to earn first-team honors. She also earned second-team accolades in 2007,
